I live in a country where gel polish isn’t very common, so it took me a while to find a nail tech who can do gel that actually lasts.

The good news is these lasted me 3 weeks with no peeling, which I’m really happy about.

But I do notice some issues with the application and I don’t have enough experience to clearly explain what’s off or how to guide my nail tech.

From what I can see:

\- The polish slightly floods or spreads into the sides of the nails in some areas

\- The edges don’t look as clean as I’m used to

\- Something about the overall finish looks a bit off, but I can’t fully pinpoint it

I also added a photo of what I used to get before (last pic) for comparison but I don’t live in that country anymore.

What should I specifically ask my nail tech to focus on to improve the result? Any technical terms or tips I can give her would really help since gel isn’t very common here.

First picture is when I got them freshly done, the rest are 20 days in. The last pic is what I used to get abroad.

  1. I can’t quite tell in the photos but you cannot allow any gel to get on your skin, it is an allergy risk that will affect some types of medical equipment and PPE and may limit your medical care in future. The cuticle flooding leads me to be concerned about this.
