  1. Solid color gum drops and/or teeth. They’re a bit round and bulbous? I’m sorry, I’m being rude but I’m being honest cause I’d want someone else to be honest with me

  2. Definitely cute but needs to be filed down a bit and around the cuticle so they don’t look like press ons

Color is great, but they do seem a bit thick and round. I think she used too much product, and the apex is not shaped correctly. She could have filed them down into a better shape if she was struggling with builder gel.

They appear different lengths but I’m not sure if the thickness is a factor? But don’t worry it’s not super bad

I’m thinking they are probably a beginner? Shaping isn’t the best definitely could improve but I have seen way worse! I personally think it is very difficult to make a white set not look like teeth😅 but other than that it’s pretty good! (If my assumption is correct)

I used to get these when I got my first set of gels. Sometimes, they wouldn’t be all the way cured at the thickest part.

I’d like press the apex of a nail perpendicular to the nail plate at the thickest point, and it would leave a mark because it was softer.

(Okay, I get this still every once in a while and I’m not sure why. I like doing my own nails so it’s penalty aging gel polishes or weakening uv light lamp, I’m not sure at all. A pro would know!)

The thickness for that length doesn’t make sense, especially without an apex

If I’m being brutally honest, they’re too thick. HOWEVER she seems to pay good attention to detail as the polish is done very smoothly on top. Is she young/newer? If so, (and if you like her in general) I’d stay with her & just help her grow. But if she’s already an established tech, I’d switch to someone else. Hope that helps! (And they’re not so thick that you need to remove them, I’m just trying to be brutal 🙂

  9. Unpopular opinion- I actually kinda like the thickness here’s it looks good on your hands as well as the color. Not perfect but it is nice. When I used to get overlays, I preferred them to be thicker.

    Get another new nail tech.

Too thick, uneven, different lengths, they look like you stuck that white chicklet gum on top of your nails

If you are willing to work with this nail tech and tell her where she can improve, I am sure she would be grateful. I’m honestly always so happy to find a kind one that I will overlook a *lot.*

But if she is already aware that her technique needs work, maybe you can be part of that learning curve with her. Be honest. This was too thick and the nails were different lengths, but I really loved how even the color was and the smooth texture. Can you just file them down more this time?

A compliment sandwich will go a long way. Not to mention developing a relationship with a nail tech is honestly sometimes a godsend. I think this tech has work ahead of her, but I also think she cares about doing a good job and improving.

I hope you didn’t pay much for these OP, they are too thick, uneven, and all different lengths and shapes.

Ima probably get downvoted and that’s fine. I work in Law enforcement, so I prefer thick nails. I’m also a.mom to four, two special needs kids. I NEED thick nails. Idk how women function with thin nails. Do yall sit around and look cute all day? Loll. I’m very active and I keep a thick nail. My nail tech customizes my nails to be thick for me everytime.. I actually like your nails. I like mines longer but yours are fine.

  14. Do YOU like them? Personally they’re a little too bulbous for my liking. However I know this is a trend some people enjoy.

  15. I’m not sure how the nail tech felt ok sending you off with that and accepting payment. If she isn’t confident in her abilities, she should have not offered that service.

  16. Im sorry to you, but if i saw these in real life i would think you had a disease.

  17. I feel like they could have resolved a lot of the issues here by doing some basic filing to get the right shape and remove bulkiness. That’s what I usually do after builder gel, you can really transform the shape with the right buffing and filing.

The mixed lengths and shapes are a bit odd, I’m assuming they worked with your natural lengths, but I would have maybe extended some of the shorter ones to match the other lengths and that would have helped the shaping issue too.

There’s room for improvement. At your length, they’re too thick. They’re also slightly uneven, your tech definitely has to work on filing them down evenly. But I see good potential if they’re open to constructive criticism.
