Assessment day Beauty school + Discrimination?? + unexpected opportunity.

Today was assessment day for my course. I want to thank everyone who gave me encouragement and support. I have finally saved up to be licensed.

Although I did have some sour experiences from fellow students giving me cold treatment as I have overheard them “shouldn’t he be doing what men do or whatever?”

But that’s not gonna stop me from doing what I like doing 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

We had to pair up to perform basic Builder Gel (soft gel) service on our partners. However no one wanted to pair up with me so I asked my tutor if I could do it on myself. I think she read the room and decided to let me do the service on her instead. She gave me challenge.

She said, builder gel overlay natural nails square shape and two shades of red, gold accent and pearls

But she designed her pointer finger herself.

The other tutor from the room next door (lash educator) walked in and saw my work. She loved it! She asked if I could do a an overlay on her too with French tips, and I delivered. (2nd slide) I managed to finish before the time frame. The lash educator asked if I wanted to learn the basics of eyelash extensions.

I have only been doing extensions on my friends. I demoed on a mannequin head. She then asked me if I am comfortable lashing her. My heart was going pittah pattah pittah pattah 😂 however, I thought that was my opportunity. I did a wispy hybrid set. And just like that, the school offered me lash training, all paid for! I am beyond grateful.

Moral of the story, stay humble, don’t wish on anyone’s downfall, and focus on yourself to be the best 🤞🏻🤞🏻
