Not entirely confident how relevant this is, but I’ve got a week old set of semi-cured gel strips from Dashing Diva that I roughed up to apply regular polish on top of.
I have four nails that frequently chip and flake 1-2 days into the mani because they’re on the thinner side and still trying to establish the hyponychium because I tend to rub the sleeves or seams of my clothing under my nails while I’m driving or just.. doing stuff as a fidget. Working on curbing that because I’m tired of this, grandpa! 🤣
I did have a horseshoe magnet on top of the spinner 🙂 I want to get a magnet stirrer thingy but I have to wait a lil bit depending how things go this month! Just to save some effort for my hands 😭
I didn’t use a base coat for anything because I noticed it made things a bit more slippery and harder to dry down.
I did however use Clionadh Cosmetics – Liquidus as a
base colour on all ten of my fingers to help use less magnetic polish.

Right middle: kbshimmer – no comet
Right ring: E.D.K – Mahalo!
Right pinky: Cadillacquer – It’s hard being superior to every single person on the planet
The ONLY ones on this whole mani set that I bought brand new are Cadillacquer’s Extraterrestrial & Gravity, as well as the Clionadh Cosmetics Liquidus. The rest are bought on the Canadian destash market 🫶🏻🥺🥹
For top coat: I used a mix of sally hansen red bottle & Essie gel setter.
As for how many coats per each magnetic, I don’t know and don’t remember because I just kept applying till I got the right “look” of the glass bead. Some polishes clearly worked better to achieve an actual glass bead than others 🙂 my fave are my thumbs honestly 🥹
I have redone my nails several times in the last week with the gel base :3 my first time trying this out to get a longer manicure life and less inconsistency. Kinda love it. Will need to get more because I’m sure you can tell, ya girl has MASSIVE nails. Not entirely *long* but sure are wide. Hahahaha. I think I used all the toe strips for all of my nails in the package because it was the starter kit 😭🤣💀
