Hi! I experienced something weird when doing my manicure this week – after adding QDTC and magnetizing, I ended up getting a weird “French Tip” effect that I’ve never experienced with this topcoat or any other magnetic polish for that matter. I was thinking it could be a shrinkage issue but I’m curious to hear if any of you have experienced this before.

Gel couture for me in general does cause a lot of shrinkage, I always reach for Sally Hansen insta dri in the red bottle for magnetics. Something about the formula just dries quick without re-wetting the layers under and does not cause any shrinkage. If I want more plump effect, I go in with gel couture a day after.
This happens to me when I cap my nail but get a little too much of the top of my nail. I always cap then do and extra swipe or two on top of my nail to make sure this doesn’t happen.
Gel Couture topcoat is my holy Grail but it doesn’t work well with fine particle magnetics 😭
It happens to me too with Cuticula’s Limitless. Not always, but enough that I try not to cap with TC when doing magnetics.
