I did a 10 hour wear test for this foundation and this review will cover the following: coverage, how long it lasts, caking, feeling on skin and how it compares to other popular foundations. (I have oily skin) My routine is in oneof my previous posts if you guys are interested! The shade is in 21C. Hope these nasty closeups of my skin are helpful 😭
rules: no retouching, only powder/blotting
10 am, slide 3: this foundation is SUPER high coverage! it is matte and it is sort of dry and can highlight dry spots if you dont exfoliate properly. I used the elf powder as well as one from a chinese brand called ‘funny elves’!
1 pm, slide 4: foundation looks exactly the same as after application, other than a bit of creasing under the eyelids. otherwise, no problems at all. area around the lips feel a bit dry and tight but nothing significant!!
3pm, slide 5: texture is showing a bit but foundation is fully intact other than around the lips (i had some food and wiped my lips and some founation off 😢) bit of oil now visible near the the nose but still intact
6pm, slide 6: texture is showing even more, but still intact!! area under lips creasing (chin too), but a little bit more powder when first applying should make it a lot better!
7pm, slide 7: texture is still there, but foundation is still completely there?!?! This lowkey shocked me because creasing was just around lips and under eyes, otherwise nothing else! oil is showing around the nose but is fixable with powdering
8pm: no pic but same as 7 pm! creasing is more significant around lips and cheeks are perfectly fine. when washing off i could definitely tell that some areas (cheekbones and around lips) were dried out, but not visible on camera at all
Overall review: This foundation is crazy… how did it last almost perfectly for 10 hours… The coverage is super high and compared to the espoir cushion (known for being long lasting) is even better!! barely budging for 10 hours is crazy work. only complaints are that it is a little bit drying and i recommend applying with a spatula or brush bc it can look cakey. I will be trying to mix it with mixsoon bean essence and see if that makes it better (more liquidy!). It’s definitely very matte (moreso than espoir). <— compare to pics from earlier post
Definitely the best oily skin foundation out there! 100% recommend for people looking for high coverage, long lasting and matte foundation!
