I've recently bought a few dupes by accident (Angry Harpy's "Iridescent Honmoon" is a dupe for Cirque "Mystic Moonstone"; Angry Harpy's" Eternal Blurple" is a dupe for ORLY "Opposites Attract"), and I just did it again today. On the left is LynBDesigns "This is Some Boo-Sheet", and on the right is Beaux Reves "The Little Prince". Both absolutely gorgeous colors but they look identical to my husband and me. I was so excited about the Beaux Reves until I realized that I already own it. 😕

What do you all do with dupes? Do you destash one of them? Keep one as a reserve color in case you run out of the other?

Oh that really is a dupe!

My collection isn’t big enough that I have any, but if I have two polishes that are similar I find it’s a good way to quickly work out which one I prefer. I always destash as I’m what I’ve heard called a “purger”. If I don’t love something, I don’t want it hanging around and I’m pleased to see it go to a new home where it will be appreciated.

  2. Ohhh..dang that’s the most dupe-y of dupes. I would probably add pigment to one to change it up, or destash the one if either were limited edition and not sold anymore… maybe carry one of the bottles around while wearing the mani, and if anyone compliments it, they get a free bottle of polish? X3

  3. I’d do a death match. Alternate them on all of your nails and see if one lasts better or is shiner or less prone to chips. Even though the colors are the same the formulas might not be and they could react with your chemistry differently.

I have this exact pair of dupes 😢 PLUS a third: Alchemy’s Motley Lou. 🤦🏻‍♀️
