From a distance it's…. fine. But when you look closer………???

It was only my fourth time getting my nails done at a salon ever and I was not prepared to have to advocate for myself on a whim. 🫠 (I'm also autistic so I have an even harder time going off script) Now I know not to trust random assignment by a salon when the first time went so well and the nail tech I had last time wasn't available …

This isn't even mentioning the atrocious prep work with aggressive e-filing, no filing on the nail edge, laughably minimal cuticle care (1-2 second cuticle push and careless clipping), not finishing filing the edges to smooth grit, gloopy application of gel, GETTING THE GEL ON MY SKIN AND CURING IT, filing my nail edges AFTER top coat, and probably other things I'm forgetting. To top it all off, the entire time it felt like she didn't want me there, to the point I thought I upset her somehow, until her coworker asked if she was okay as I was leaving. 😐 She also provided 0 help to me in picking a color, despite my repeated assertion that I struggle knowing what colors suit my skintone and need help.

Sidenote, the divot in my thumb nail is my own fault from using cuticle clippers to try and get under my cuticle. That one wasn't on her.

  1. They are providing a service and if it is not up to par, ask them to correct after taking pics of your original set. If they don’t want to, pay, then dispute the charge with your pics to your cc company. There is no way I would walk out of the salon and eat the cost for that. Most will fix, but if their attitude was that bad, get your proof and handle it on the back end.
