I just saw that Tate McRae’s MUA used Solawave for one of her VMAs look and now I can’t stop thinking about it like her skin didn’t even look done it just looked really smooth glowy and healthy?? not heavy, not cakey just that clean dewy skin where you can still see her actual skin through the makeup and now I’m kinda questioning everything lol cause how much of that is actually makeup vs what you do before makeup?? cause that didn’t look like foundation doing all the work, I’ve always liked her more natural looks but this one felt different, like skin first instead of makeup first does she still uses light therapy!!!
do you guys think skin prep actually makes that big of a difference or is it still mostly the makeup??

Solawave does less than nothing. Red light therapy works, but you need the proper wave length the correct distance from the skin. Her skin is the result of lasers, peels great skincare and most likely – filter in this pic

her skin looks good but not insane IMO (pretty standard celeb skin with a good mua), and this picture has color grading and probably a bit of editing on it. skincare of course makes a huge difference with or without makeup tho.

I mean yea…. 90% of how makeup turns out is your skin texture underneath…. but nothing in this pic is real, its heavily edited
