Used: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails strengthener, OPI Natural Nail base coat, OPI You’ve Got Nail, and Sally Hansen No Chip top coat. One coat each.
I’ve been back into polish for about four-ish months now? Finally getting to the point where my application isn’t a childrens’ art show, but layers and timing are still the bane of my existence.
Top coat was from my last round of polish mania a few years ago. I did use the KBShimmer thinner go loosen it up, but clearly not enough. I’ve since added a few more drops. I’m pretty sure it’s what caused most of the problems here; it definitely caused the bubbling and the weird patch at the base of my thumb (pooled there and dripped before it dried). I’m trying to use up what I’ve got before I add to the hoard, hence using older toppers.
I did take my nightly shower a couple hours after doing my mani, and that’s when the cracks appeared. Streakiness is just part of the polish, and that I don’t mind.
I think I’m going to remove this polish and try again tomorrow. Won’t be ideal to have to apply after dinner, but I don’t know how to make the timing work during the workweek.
