Skin Type: Very dry, very sensitive, eczema-prone skin
Tatcha The Rice Wash – my holy grail face wash. This is the only face wash that feels so good to my skin. Cleanse really well but not drying.
Due to my very sensitive and reactive skin, I thought I should settle with the likes of Cetaphil, La Roche Posay, Avene milk and Curel cleanser. Surprisingly, these all stings. Not sure if there’s a specific ingredient in these that I’m irritated to. I also tried Aveeno oat cleanser but I don’t like the feeling of thin film in my face even after washing.
Tatcha rice wash does not market itself for sensitive skin I think. It also has a subtle scent but my skin really loves it. I’ve been using it for 3years and not looking to try anything else.
Elixir Brightening Lotion I (toner) – I just repurchased this one. I initially bought the bottle version and then just do refills. I like my toners like this to be watery consistency compared to those toners that are almost essence or serum like Pyunkang Yul which caused me fungal acne. I get my moisture in my serums and moisturizer so I prefer this type of toner.
IPSA toner – not sure if it does anything for me but I didn’t repurchase just because I like the Elixir better. But this is not that bad. My No.2 toner if Elixir won’t be available. This is more moisturizing than the Elixir toner.
SK-II Pitera Essence – my holy grail. Repurchased even before I ran out. Gives a certain glow. This is worth my money imho.
La Mer creme de la mer – Repurchased. my holy grail face moisturizer ❤️ Gone were the days when I have lots of cream jars and tubes due to trying a lot of products and still get sad every time I look in the mirror because nothing works. My skin really improved once I started using this religiously. I tried a lot so I’m very happy with La Mer. I know this is such a polarizing product but it works for me and they can take my money every single time lol
Skin Aqua gold SPF 50++ sunscreen – the one in the pic is the old formulation which I really love and it broke my heart when I bought the new one and it looks oily on me after 15mins. This is the best for dry skin and I only prefer Japanese sunscreen brands. I used Anessa before but I think that’s better suited for oily skin.
Nivea Soft (Japanese version) – I used this as body lotion and I have finished a lot of jars. It’s too small also. I prefer this than the Thailand version available in my country. The Japanese version is just creamier and more moisturizing. And of course they have to discontinue this like all good things in life. They replaced this with a tube version and though they claim that it’s the same, it’s really not. The tube version of Nivea Soft in Japan is comparable to the Nivea Soft jar made in Thailand. So now I don’t have a body lotion that I really love.
TLDR: Holy grail and repurchased – Tatcha rice wash, SK II Pitera essence, Elixir toner, La Mer creme de la mer
