Okay! I’m back with my second ever ILNP color. I fell in love with *Pyro* while browsing… but now that I’ve been wearing it for 3 days, I’m honestly not sure this looks that good against my complexion. It’s an insanely cool lacquer, I just need some secondary opinions- what do you think? Love it or lose it?

Now, the mini-rant. On my previous (and only) post, another sub member attempted to shame me for having bitten nails. Oh, we do that here??

Girlie, do you *really* think I don’t know it’s an unhygienic habit? You think I *like* how it looks? I am *aware* I don’t have long beautiful nail beds with a tight C-curve. I am learning how to adequately care for my hands after 2 decades of blue collar work. I have working hands that get beat to shit, my nails get ripped up, cuticles shred, and on top of that I have this anxious habit. I have *tried* to stop biting my nails many, many times- I even managed to quit smoking before quitting nail biting! Literally the only thing that keeps me from biting is *POLISH*. And I haven’t had the kind of jobs where I can *wear* polish for decades! All justifications aside, I was really surprised since I hadn’t yet seen any of those kinds of comments in this sub before. Didn’t know it was *that* kinda party…

So! If one of my fellow Laqueristas (sic) has a mean-spirited comment about my nail health? Please, save it for your mirror. If you have *practical advice* for how to keep from biting? Share away!

I have really been enjoying the supportive atmosphere here for the most part, and I love all the beautiful work I’m seeing in the sub. Many of y’all are *insanely creative* and it has inspired me. I don’t want to leave because of a faceless, cowardly bully hiding behind a screen. Thank you🖤

I think it looks really nice. In the second to last photo, I think it doesn’t look quite as good as in the others, but it might be something about the way the lights hitting it. And the other photos I think it looks great. And I also really appreciate the last photo!

I love this shade, but I’ve hesitated to buy it because I don’t know that it’s going to look good on my skin tone.

  3. I am also a nail and skin biter/picker, and I’m so sorry you had that experience here! Having my nails polished is the only thing that has kept me from doing it too. Keep up the good fight!

  4. I think it looks fab on you! Shimmers change a lot depending on the light and even where the sun is if youre outside…I had one that was blue and when I turned my car would turn pink. Fucking WEIRD shit lol.

BRAVA on you.fighting the habit. I was a nail biter for 20+ years. Breaking habits hardly ever has to do with logic to start with…so anyone judging you is NOT actually part of this community. Shitty people don’t represent us. Keep paiting. Keep posting. Keep kicking ass my friend!

If you wear it as a topper over a dark grey or a dark blue, it’ll look more like the product photos. I find the copper shimmer really takes over with 2-3 coats of just Pyro

I like how shifty this color is! I think it suits you, IMO, but I also get going back and forth on colors over the days wearing it.

Also!! I was a baker and chef for ten years and grew up an avid nail biter and skin picker. I STILL struggle not to give myself hang nails or rip my cuticles when they start to get ragged. It’s a bit of a nervous tic or something I do when I’m really concentrated. Anyone commenting on that and trying to shame you can kick rocks. Very ugly of them.

It’s funny you said “insanely cool lacquer” bc before reading the post I thought to myself “oh thats insanely cool” 😂 I think it really does work!
