wearing glitch lacquer’s ‘groundbreaking’ collection [pr]
glitch lacquer’s spring collection is launching tomorrow! I swatched the full collection and put together comparison manis with similar glitch shades to help with decision-making ahead of the release. ^(apologies in advance – turning these into collages reduced image quality a bit)
all swatches are shown in three coats unless otherwise noted, using a smoothing base and a quick dry glossy top coat
* **carnations in bloom** is both a solar and uv-reactive glow in the dark polish. in its base state, it’s a relatively sheer, white-based nude with warmer iridescent flakes. after uv exposure (in normal light), it shifts pink. depending on how concentrated the uv exposure is, the pink ranges from a light baby pink to a darker magenta. it can also sit in a transitional stage. the flakes were visible and looked cute in the solar stages. after uv exposure in the dark, it glows a dark blue. i did not really see much glow after exposure to normal light, only after uv exposure
* **pink lemonade** is a warm pink polish with warm shimmer. I have cool undertones so this wasn’t my favorite on myself. note that I wore this shade over a smoothing base and still saw visible nail line in some lighting
* **fallen rose petals** is one of my favorite polishes in the collection. it has a darker magenta base with many shifty flakes. it gave a very different look depending on the lighting, and I loved each one, especially direct sun!! I also compared this shade to a few other pinks and reds in glitch’s catalogue (**fire opal, starlust, and shadow ruby**)
* **wispy wisteria** is a darker purple polish with rainbow glitters. it glows green in the dark after exposure to uv light. I added some comparison pictures to **alexandrite prism,** another dark purple in glitch’s catalogue; alexandrite was much darker (nearly black) and did not look similar at all on the nail
* **garden of eden** is a grassy green with a warm green/gold shimmer. as a ✨ cool-toned lady✨ i liked this polish a looooootttt more than expected when wearing it. i think this is bc i love a high contrast polish, and this one is very noticeable. it had an easy formula to paint with, would recommend to green polish lovers
* **seafoam** is a lighter green with a cooler, more blue base, and a pink/orange shimmer. the shimmer here was super shifty
* **april showers** is a very light blue with a ton of flakes. i am obsessed w light blue polish, and the pink in the flakes added really nice contrast. i was pleasantly surprised by the subtle flake effect- there were so many flakes in the polish that i added some thinner 🤪 but it didn’t look overwhelming on the nails at all. I also included some comparison pics to **by any means necessary,** the charity polish released alongside the valentines collection. these are definitely similar- the base colors are nearly identical (by any means necessary might be slightly more gray), but the finishes differ. you probably would only need both if you were truly obsessed with polishes in this light blue family
* **dewdrop** is a neon-leaning purple with green-ish shimmer. i love this shade of purple so much, and the shimmer was very shifty. it also reacted to flash (likely reflectives). I included comparison pictures to **wispy wisteria** (from this collection) and **keep your heart** (from the aprhodite’s kiss collection). this polish is a very similar shade of purple to keep your heart, and they both have a green shift, but the finish looks pretty different on the nail
* **the smell of rain** is a medium-depth blue that is super sheer and can be built up or worn as a topper. I wore it alone over smoothing base- in four coats, there was still visible nail line and the formula got a bit thick. I also wore it over black and white, and separately over a slate gray (my fav base here). I also compared it to **dream opal**, a similar sheer blue that released in the aphrodite’s kiss collection. dream opal was slightly more opaque and looks pretty different due to its shimmer
* **may flowers** is a topper w pink/purple flakes and silver reflectives. this polish has the opposite vibe of april showers – april showers is subtle, and may flowers definitely is not 😂 may flowers is packed enough to be worn on its own (I used it over smoothing base) or worn as a topper (as intended). I included comparisons showing may flowers over smoothing base, white, and black. I especially loved it over black in the comparison mani as an accent, but she’s *sparkly,* and it might have been too impactful for me for the full hand (especially with flash). for me, this should have remained an ✨ accent nail ✨
other products used (all purchased):
* tylers trinkets tacky but cute base coat
* holo taco peely base
* holo taco pink smoothing base
* holo taco not milky white, one coat black, cold slate
* essie speed setter
* cracked qdtc
launch notes: the spring collection is launching *tomorrow at 5 pm eastern!!!* some potentially useful notes on launch:
* it’s a ten polish launch
* for the week after launch, $1 from non-charity polishes will support world food program
* glitch is no longer offering launch discounts and is instead switching to an affiliate model (some notes on that below)
* as always, the collection is permanent and glitch is a fomo-free brand
*affiliate info*: if you’re planning to shop the launch, my code **‘aly10’** offers **10% off your order**. bc i am a terrible influencer my caveats are:
* *no pressure at all to use my code!!;*
* pls don’t shop just bc of discounts if u weren’t already planning to do so;
* charity polishes and discounted bundles are ineligible for discount codes; and
* feel free to lmk if i can help with deciding on a polish through comparisons or anything else!!
^(mods pls lmk if affiliate info is not allowed and i’ll edit that part out, thank u for all that u do)
❤️❤️❤️
