Before, YesStyle would show a varying range of reviews from 3 to 5 stars, which helped me feel like there was nuanced criticism and I could trust people's opinion. Lately, YesStyle is saying every product is 5 stars. I know Asian Beauty is advanced, but not every product is that good. The "Face Serum" section has 35 pages of product listings and nearly every single one of them is 5 stars, rarely do you see 3 stars or even 4.5.

I've always had a good experience with YesStyle and they are legit, but it would suck if brands are buying positive reviews. Or maybe this is all driven by stupid social media and TikTok hype. I just want to be able to sift through the noise and find products based for me (combo oily, which is so hard to care for because all my products need a balancing ratio of moisture, hydration, and emollience). It's hard to do that if all the reviews are saying 5 stars and all the descriptive reviews are saying the same thing and just taking a picture of their haul and not the actual results of their skin (which is completely up to them to share, but a picture of your haul doesn't tell me anything).

I know for a fact there was diversity in YesStyle reviews a year or two ago, but now it's rating system seems pointless. I already go the extra mile with researching Youtube product reviews, but sometimes no one reviews it so you're just waiting on someone's experience. Has anyone else felt the same way?

This seems to happen to every product that has over 20 or so reviews. Just filter reviews by “negative only” and see what grievances people bring up. It’s more work than a simple glance at the number of stars, but it’s useful.

Yeah reviews on these websites feel like they’re chatgpt. I use skinsort app to see reviews for my skin type. I heard hwahae is good too but I haven’t explored that much yet.

It is disappointing and frustrating if true. Seems no website has legitimate reviews these days (I’m sure there are some, but they seem to be the exception these days).
