Dejavu Lash Knockout vs Heroine Make Long and Curl Advanced Film

I saw a post here a while ago with gorgeous results from the Dejavu Lash Knockout mascara; that OP even rated it higher than Heroine Make, so I picked one up while I was in Japan.

I’ve been using Heroine Make’s Long & Curl mascara (both the regular and the skinny wand) for years, and every time I’ve tried something else I’ve ended up disappointed. this time would be different… I thought.

Immediately after applying the Dejavu mascara, my lashes started to fall, almost undoing the entire curl. I didn’t take a picture, but by the end of the day my lashes were completely straight and I had panda eyes 💀 Heroine make stays up for me the whole day and I don’t have issues with smudging unless in high humidity areas.

I came back and searched more posts in this sub about it and seems like other people have had the same issue.

Now I’m really curious how it works for those who love this mascara!

For now, I’ll be sticking with heroine make 🙂‍↕️

Wow this is a great way to showcase the product. Heroine Make should hire you for their ads/customer testimony haha

  2. I’m a Dejavu hater too.

I vaguely remember really liking their fiberwig mascara over a decade ago as a teen. I tried their orange tube mascara some years back *specifically* because it was the curl-keeping type, and I had pretty much the exact same experience you did – lashes IMMEDIATELY started drooping. took that shit off *so* fast.

I’ve actively avoided them since and no longer trust any of their products (I think I also tried an eyebrow pencil, and that also just wiped off pretty easily iirc).

  3. I agree with your review! I had such high expectations for dejavu but never had I had such severe panda eyes until I wore this. It didn’t even have half of the staying power of heroine. Time to go back to the OG.

  4. No way, even the advanced film version? I’ve never come across a tubing/non-waterproof mascara that held a curl like that. If you’ve tried the waterproof version, would you mind comparing the wear and curl power between the two?
