My first Spring manicure of every year is a Women’s History Month theme. The past several years the theme has also been rage ¯_(ツ)_/¯
From bottom to top:
One coat ORLY Breathable Protein Boost
One coat ORLY Bonder (base coat)
On thumbs, indexes, and pinkies — three coats Swamp Gloss I Don’t Need a Mood Ring. I Have a Face. I used one coat of Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber before topcoating.
On middles and wings — ORLY Take a Break stamped in Maniology Love Potion (light pink) and Toy Soldier from the Lantern and Wren Mind Your Own Uterus plate.
Topcoat is Seche Vite.
The Swamp Gloss polish I bought to remind me of the time my older, male boss criticized me and another woman manager for “the looks on our faces.” I quiet quit that very day and spent the next three years doing the bare minimum until my life circumstances changed and I could move on. If it’s not every man it might as fucking well be. No other man ever spoke up, I know that much.
Anyway. It’s absolutely fucked that the history that affects about half the world’s population is considered “niche.” Fuck. That.
One book I’ll recommend is “Public Faces, Secret Lives,” which is about queer contributions to the suffragist movement. I’m not great at reading nonfiction but I’m trying.
Happy Women’s History Month. Get Loud. Fuck Stuff Up.
