in order: Mint Green, Happiness Aura, Latte Beige (no idea why pink is happiness aura 😭)

second picture: Latte Beige and UV Tint by Acnes, owned along with Skin Aqua by Rohto

since regular tinted sunscreens usually look too yellow or too dark on me, I've been using tone up sunscreens when I want to even out my skin a little bit, and it works so much better that I tried a few different ones!

skintone: I use romand's nu zero cushion in Natural 21, but it does look a bit yellow on me sometimes. I correct this with a pink matte highlighter that looks too pink on my face, and together they kind of work haha.

I could probably go a shade lighter, but I haven't tried it yet because I'm rather unlucky and most products look too cool or too warm on me, so I don't buy base products very often!

skin type and climate: sensitive; prone to slight redness and acne (mostly closed comedones); combination leaning dry. very humid tropical-temperate climate.

Overall formula

They're all moisturizing on me, and I tend to wear them alone or on top of melano CC. I never had any issues with wearing them together. I save them for autumn/winter because they aren't waterproof and will come off if you sweat. (I even had it happen to me when brushing my teeth once….. so be careful around water)

I don't know if it was a bad batch or if they do have different formulas across colors, but I found Mint Green to be a little thicker than the other two, and thus harder to blend. It also settled into my pores sometimes (and I never had that happen with any other product before, makeup or skincare), which the other two didn't.

They're all scented, with Mint Green & Latte Beige having near identical scents, and Happiness Aura having a different one. I can't say what kind of scent though, because I suck at discerning that stuff… but none of them irritated my skin, or gave me any CCs. They do sting my eyes a lot if they get in though, so I can't rub my eyes.

Skin Aqua Mint Green

a very light green, the one closest to white on me. I'd say it does more tone up than tone correction, but it did help my facial redness and my face matched my neck the best with this one if I wore it lightly.

Unfortunately, if I applied enough for the needed sun protection, it's so white that I looked a tad too pale wearing it, and had someone ask me if I was alright once hahaha. I won't repurchase because I for sure need a lighter skintone to pull this off.

Skin Aqua Happiness Aura

a light pink, with less white than Mint Green. the one I loved the most! It's not too white for my skintone, and while my face does look a tiny bit cooler than my neck when wearing this, it's not enough for anyone else to notice. It also got me compliments on my skin, opposite to Mint Green.

Skin Aqua Latte Beige

a light beige, lighter than other tinted sunscreens I have seen! I added the Acnes UV Tint for comparison. I think this could work well on a person with a warmer skintone! on me, though, I just looked yellow.. but it was definitely better than the Acnes one 🫠

I have mint, lavender, and blue. I use them as makeup primers everyday. However, none of mine have a tone-up effect when completely blended in; they all just look clear on me. I’m one shade darker than you.

I’m the same skin tone. I liked the green and purple. It applied the best using a sponge, over my base layer of toner/lotion. I now use Allie’s tinted line to better protect myself from sweating off the sunscreen.
