Blackened green glass (featuring my mint green water bottle)

So, green is one of my favorite colors. I especially love green glass. But a lot of beautiful green polishes look really bad with my skin tone. Here I tried to darken/blacken BKL’s “It Happens” and I like the way this turned out.☺️

On most of the fingers I put “It Happens” over ILNP Ink and then added one coat of Cirque’s NSFW jelly. On four of the fingers I didn’t have the black underneath and then I just added three coats of the Cirque NSFW on top.

I did this over the course of three days, as I was experimenting. (Initially I just did straight black on six fingers and It Happens on its own on four. I didn’t like it, the green looked terrible on me even with the black next to it to offset the color ). Two days later I doctored it as described above. Next time I would either just use the black underneath and one coat of the cirque, or just the black underneath, which would make it a little lighter. But I personally like it better with the black jelly on top.

I wonder if this is close to what BKL‘s new shade “Believing Something Doesn’t Make it True“ will look like if I were to add one coat of black jelly on top? . 🤔 I did order that one, despite firmly saying I wouldn’t since I don’t look good in green 🙄, so I guess I’ll see.

Topcoat: most fingers had Zoya ultra glossy seal, but a few had Sally Hansen Insta- dri in the red bottle.
