

Thanks to this sub, I leveled up my technique basically overnight. The following advice made such a huge difference:
– just starting 3/4 down the nail with polish to avoid flooding the cuticle
– using a little brush with remover to clean as you go
– frequently but gently pushing back your cuticles and OILING THEM
– I don’t know the word for it but applying polish to the tips before applying polish to the whole nail so you can really finish them nicely without clumping at the top
Tonight’s manicure (admittedly after a shower, so it wasn’t totally perfect) looks as close to professional as I’ve ever gotten. My nail beds are also looking longer and so much healthier.
