I always find the text on Amanda Z’s cover images pretty goofy and hyperbolic, often eyeroll-inducing, but this one gave me a good laugh. People are being abducted and publicly executed in real time and “This is crucial.” I totally understand and partake in the escapism of hobbyist and consumerist youtube, and I get that it serves a purpose and that the world keeps turning, and that not everything has to be about one thing. And I don’t expect beauty influencers to have anything particularly insightful to say about geopolitics and I don’t turn to them for that…but this statement, this week, is pretty absurd to me lol. It’s like this video emerged from a parallel but completely separate universe from the one the rest of us are living in. Anyway I’m not even calling her out or anything I just think it’s bizarre and darkly hilarious, if not just a smidge tone-deaf.

It’s ok, calling her out on this is needed
Her dramatic video titles always make me roll my eyes. But hard agree, with all that’s going on, this title seems like it’s from a different universe.
Not sure who that is but so many influencers are just so out of touch and the over consumption is even just too much for me which is saying something as I somewhat horde new beauty products. I recently had to unfollow one as literally all she does is shop every single day. I have no clue where she’s putting it all it’s just ridiculous.
I don’t think I want to dedicate an hour to find out what she’s talking about.
No I’m not jumping on this bandwagon in the world that we are in today. If this makes people happy. Let them have it seriously. I mean in America you can’t even walk down the street without thinking will today be the day that I’ll get pewpew will today be the day that ice comes for me even though I’m born in bread (yes meant that spelling) maybe I should dye my hair blonde and put blue eye contacts in make them think I’m white. Whatever helps people get through today’s turmoil just let them be. It’s not hurting you. Did you actually watch the video? Did she allude to anything in the video? Some creators aren’t just coming straight out and saying anything. They’re actually being very discerning and careful about what they say because they know they will have a target on their back gone are the days where Americans can use freedom of speech as a get out of jail free card so to speak right… other parts of the world don’t even have it so welcome to the rest of the world. My point being if you didn’t watch the video you might not know she might’ve been dropping double entendre’s. Some creators are being really creative with it and it’s interesting to watch those that are and those that aren’t. But anyway you might think it’s a poor choice of word you don’t know she might’ve even put all of her videos on pre-upload …. I don’t even know who this chick is by the way. In any case. I think everyone is on edge and can be a little more sensitive than usual. And for good reason… but America voted for this so now the world has to ride it out.
How is this video an hour long? Kim there’s people that are dying
yeah idk if this is me being petty but her overdramatic titles made me stop watching her videos :/ she was insightful and her personality is neutral enough (compared to others) but she just dramatizes her titles so much, it’s unnecessary
She is honestly one of my most watched content creators, her content is right up my alley and I love the detail she gives, but the titles are always so dramatic! When I saw this thumbnail on my feed I definitely did a double take; reminded me of an Instagram post I saw today, captioned something along the lines of “tropical storm where?!” or something, with the girl in the picture all decked out in a tropical dress and I’m like ?!? So out of touch. This is kind of reverse that but idk, it reminded me of it
