The swatches of Pinky Promise are on the right. (The left is the already released Ultraviolet palette). It’s retailing for $72. For me, the quality looks amazing but I cannot justify that price for what feels like a kind of repetitive palette…. I would happily pay like $42 for a nine-pan edited version. But so many of these shimmers are not going to be distinguishable and I think some of the mattes could be achieved by blending other matters already in the palette. What do you think?

It’s very pretty.
I haven’t tried mine yet and I think I am going to get rid of it.
It’s too much work for me and not really fitting into my style.
Untouched, I will find it a new home.
I feel like half of these shades only look different in the pan. I *love* a purple/pink eyeshadow, don’t get me wrong, but blended into each other, the colors wouldn’t be distinct.
The shimmers are gorgeous, though.
The cover art is so gorgeous and I want to love a pink/purple palette very badly but these are mostly the same colour. Even the shimmers don’t look that special outside of the one holo. I would probably still get it if it was 20 or 30, but $72? Pass, sorry.
I need this but in orange. I miss monochromatic palettes
This could easily be cut down to 12 or even 9 or 10 pans. I don’t feel like you really need any more than that in a monochromatic palette. They do look nice, but nowadays I’m trying to be a lot more selective with what I buy and I can already dupe the majority of these shades, so it’s an easy pass for me. I’d much rather put $72 towards singles I don’t already own dupes for and that I know I’ll actually use.
I love Bella Beaute Bar’s shimmers, but this color story is so unnecessary.
It’s a little too deep and tonally similar for me. Pink is my favorite, but I’d want more variety in a palette. Very pretty, though!
The colors are pretty but too repetitive. I feel like there won’t be a lot of definitive when working a lot of these colors.
I really like Deandra and am so happy that she got another collab! But it’s a pass for me. The shades are too similar. And BBB has high prices plus the highest shipping of any indie brand I’ve tried.
It’s stunning but a lot of redundancy especially with the 4 pink shimmers on the right side
This wouldve done incredible 10 yeasrs ago.
I like it, but I think some of the colors are a little redundant and this could use a wider shade range. A lot of those mid-tone pinks look too similar.
Love Deandra, loved the Ultraviolet palette, and I’m sure the quality of this new palette is excellent, but I can’t justify spending $72 on a palette with so many similar shades. But also I’m more into reds than pinks, so maybe for a pink lover this palette is perfect.
I have a bunch of BBB palettes, and I’m obsessed with their quality (both of the shimmers and mattes), but this one is a pass for me. The colors are too similar to what they have in their Dead Roses and Smokey Glam palettes, and I’m happy with those. The color story is a little too monochromatic for me, but it if you love pink then this would be a great palette. Personally, their best palette of the year for me was the Dark Dreamscape palette, that was stunning
I think they look very pretty but I wish there was more variation in the shades of pink chosen
I don’t love it. And 72$ for any makeup is just crazy to me, especially during these difficult times
Monochromatic palettes are safe to curate- they don’t take too much thought. I would have hoped that Deandra would go beyond that considering that she already curated a monochromatic colour story with the brand before. Overall it’s unnecessary, particularly at that price tag, and doesn’t feel like it’s a colour story that’s been curated mindfully.
The swatches are very pretty, but I feel like no matter how you combined the shades you’d end up with the same eye look.
Seeing it swatched next to the Ultra Violet palette though I think the pink, edited down to 9 pans and a less insane price tag,, would make a great companion palette.
I completely agree with you! I don’t know this person but I imagine that they wanted to add a lot of undertones but in one single palette can become a little overwhelming
Really weird. Too many repeat shades. It’s a one or two eye look color story that’s way over priced.
i really like deandra but bbb is so pricy and most of these will blend really similarly on me. i love the idea of a holochrome but can’t cave on the color schemes yet 😔
Its giving Beautybay Berries with a handful of indie shimmer.
So, as someone who has Berries… I’m gonna be off WAY cheaper just getting a few singles and then I’m good.
But I’m also the person who’s refusing to pay more than Blemd Bunny prices for mattes. I love supporting indies for multichromes but this ain’t worth it. Purple is my absolute favorite color and I still didn’t buy the Ultraviolet for this exact reason – if you take out the mattes, it’s insanely expensive.
Also, you can make maybe 2 different looks with this. If you’re thinking of buying this, buy the 16 or 9 pan Berries for cheap & use your money to pick your own shimmers elsewhere and you’ll get a lot more out of it.
Im poor and haven’t bought makeup in about 5 years lol I shall dupe the vibes of the tones I like most like that pastel purple and continue wondering how the economy is so miserable
I love the look of the Pink Palette, but I’m trying to convince myself that since I already have Dead Roses, I don’t really need it. I love the Bellabeautebar formula and own 6 palettes from them, 3 that I bought last year (Dark Dreamscape, Ocean Jewel, and Morally Grey). I’ve been wearing Dark Dreamscape for months, interspersed with Morally Grey.
I think it’s so pretty and fitting for Valentine’s Day! But I personally don’t wear pink eyeshadow enough to warrant a need for a palette like this. I do however have Ultraviolet and it’s phenomenal, I love purple eyeshadow so much so it was worth it for me! I’m sure a lot of people are going to love it especially if they wear a lot of pink shades. I love pink as a color but not as much as an eyeshadow color if that makes sense.
But yeah BBB is expensive and what bothers me is their shimmers, while gorgeous, are very emollient so they crease on a lot of people. Me included. I have to be very particular about how I wear most of my shadows from them and I often need to press out excess binder with a tissue (shoutout to Millie aka BadtotheBrow for recommending that), but it still doesn’t always fix the creasing. Just makes it crease a few hours later instead of within 30 mins to an hour. Then I have to use glitter glue and build the shimmer in thin layers to get the least amount of creasing.
My UV palette actually was way better about that and I still haven’t had to press tissues or whatever into it, so I hope this one is the same! But I get nervous when I know I want to buy a BBB palette because I’m like .. am I paying $70+ to get a bunch of creasy shadows? I would want to wait for reviews if I was planning to buy it. Excited for Deandra, she’s such a talented creator and artist so I hope it does well.
Maybe it’s the screenshot but the saturation feels like it’s turned waaaay up and that always throws warning flags to me
I think it´s cute but a bit too repetitive in comparison to the purple one. But I´m also not a big pink eyeshadow person.
lol i found this thread after Deandra made a post about it and tbh, I’m really interested in seeing her come up with different looks using this palette. I’m on the fence of whether or not i wanna buy this palette because i don’t usually wear pinks but i do see the shade variations and at this point I’m really interesting to see ultimately how many varied looks Deandra and other creators can create with it.
It looks very pretty when I look at it from distance, then it’s a tad repetitive when I look closer. I wish it had UV’s shade range. I also hope they release singles for the shimmers.
The thing that I’m more curious about is why are we getting pink themed palettes one after another lately. It’s obviously a long process to gather the colour story, production, design etc. So all these brands were working on these pink theme palettes all at the same time? Is there a pink trend? Simply Posh, BBB, Unearthly, Nomad (partly) and another one announced but I can’t remember which brand, I will update. I’m personally very happy, I adore pink, no complaints. Why so many around the same time though?
Pinky promise palette is pretty but I already have BBB Dead Roses palette. I think the Dead Roses palette has a good balance of pinks, shimmers and purples to balance out the pinks. I just feel like there’s no point in getting the pinky promise palette when I have the Dead Roses palette
