Does anyone else feel a strange slight sweaty sensation after applying this cream? I have normal-slightly dry no issues skin and my hg moisturizer is the klairs blue calming cream and the 345 cream. This one has a similar texture but no matter how I apply it with different toners underneath and different times of day, even though it feels nice going on there’s this weird thing where I’ll either sweat and it’ll liquify a little bit or I feel a bit of a warm sweaty sensation. It’s so strange and I’ve never felt anything like this before with my myriad of skincare so I thought I’d ask if anyone else experienced this or knows what’s happening?

  1. yeah, i felt the same :/ i don’t know why it happens, i’m thinking it has something to do with their formula. went back to my boj dynasty cream and didn’t experience that. so i just stopped using

  2. When I moved to a more humid climate, I noticed that, too! I’ve stopped using it because of that. It used to be my HG… But on the bright side: I’ve discovered that I love Japanese sunscreens more!

  3. KoreanSkincareGirl on

I had a really similar experience with this cream. It felt great at first, but after a few minutes I’d get this warm, slightly sweaty feeling and it would almost start to “melt” on my skin. I tried changing what I layered underneath and using it at different times too, but it kept happening. I had similar feel with a TirTir product as well. Wondering if backend manufacturer of Skin1004 and TirTir are the same company or not.

My guess is it’s something about the formula though, as the same company which main group I think as both Skin1004 & TIRTIR are owned by Goodai Global’s related company structures, however I am not sure but maybe the combo of humectants + occlusives creating a bit of a greenhouse effect, especially if your skin doesn’t actually need that level of hydration. I went back to my usual moisturizer and the sensation completely disappeared, so I just stopped using this one. You’re definitely not imagining it.

  4. I haven’t tried that one specifically but I’ve had that same thing happen with creams that were just a little bit too heavy on my skin, like Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate is fantastic as a body lotion for me but if I put it on my face I just get sweaty. Could be that it’s just a bit too heavy for what your skin likes.

  5. It might be due to high concentration of Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, which I normally don’t see in skincare ingredients – it’s a thick, viscous synthetic emolient, thickener and stabilizer, generally used as a substitute for castor oil, which you’d likely find as an ingredient in a lipgloss formula in a similar proportion – which you obv. won’t smear all over your face because it’s just too thick.

It’s unfortunate they decided to mix so much of it in because it looks like a richly nourishing formula otherwise :/
