I wore LynB's Feeling Eel Electric for the first time today. 2 coats over base coat. They look perfectly fine till I applied top coat and there it was…oxidised nails as per the photo. This happened with both red eye lacquer's tip top top coat & lynb's b-quick. I got all these in April and only got around to trying them. Any idea why this may be happening?

2x Treat Me Base Coat. 2x LynB Feeling Eel Electric. 1x Top Coat (B-Quick or Tip Top Top Coat)
Cloudy spots are typically caused by moisture. Is it humid where you are? Did you wash your hands or shower or otherwise have wet nails immediately before polishing?
In any case, foggy spots generally dissipate within 24 hours or so, once the water fully evaporates.
This happened to me one time, also when I put the top coat on. It eventually went away but I was so confused too. I think my top coat was old and goopy and it was humid out
It happens to me all the time when it’s cold and there’s a lot of humidity, only on the free edge (makes sense, it’s colder than the nail plate so I guess there’s a little condensation there) and only after I apply top coat. Weirdly it never happens when I use seche vite, I think the toluene causes the moisture to evaporate instantly. The fogginess is always gone by the next morning, once the polish has fully cured.
This happens to me when I paint my nails on the patio this time of year! I prefer to paint them outside because I dont want to gas out my cats and bird with paint fumes.
It’s from cold + moisture, as other comments have mentioned. Should rub away on its own eventually.
