Beyond frustrating….followed prior nail tech to new salon and wow what a horrid change in her attitude and her work. Never had chrome before didn’t know it cost extra. Told only way to do silver tips (which I’ve had polish before) so went with it and paid $20 more than normal. Less than two days this stuff started coming off. It’s either chipped or peeling off all of my nails. Salon saying I must’ve picked at it. WTH 🤦‍♀️ why would i intentionally ruin my own nails being stuck with them for a few weeks. Won’t go back and they don’t want me back 😂. They don’t like bad reviews 😂. Got some good recommendations from friends for new tech. So I’m gonna soak these off before I go there and get a fresh set that I know will be done right.

Rant over…thx for listening and understanding my frustration.

  1. Honestly, from what I can see on the photos it looks like it was just badly prepped or dark polish under the chrome was too thick (especially noticeable on the pinky finger) and may not have cured properly🥲 so sorry for it, I’d definitely change technician AND salon

  2. It’s pretty normal for salons to charge extra for chrome. It’s extra work, it requires more material and it takes longer. Especially if it’s isolated chrome (like french tips) versus chrome all over the nails.

That being said, this is very badly done. It looks like they used black under the chrome and it’s peeling because it’s not cured properly, which is dangerous to have sitting on your nails. Chrome (or any gel, really) shouldn’t be chipping off after 2 days. It’s insane the salon didn’t offer to fix it, since it’s very clearly an issue with the application.

You’re definitely in the right for leaving them a bad review and not going back there.
