When visiting Thailand this summer, I ended up picking two tubes of the volumizing formula because why not and the excitement of finally being able to buy AB products in person. I tend to do better with volume variants of mascaras because they are less clumpy on me.
Hard to find any new words to describe mascaras after writing quite a few reviews for them, but since Dolly Wink’s has been discontinued, I think this is the perfect replacement and my current favorite mascara.
I use Surratt eyelash curler (highly recommend, it’s the only one that catches all my lashes, even the outer ones!) and this gives me insane lift and that “feathered lash” look the whole day.
Unlike the eyeliner (which I’m also using and like a lot), this mascara is completely smudgeproof and waterproof. I can only remove it with biphase removers, oil cleanser is not enough (I love the bifesta one, but locally available Nivea and Maybelline waterproof duo phase also work without issues). I’ve used the Heroine remover before but much prefer the biphase ones with a cotton pad (sorry world).
It’s lengthening enough for me, does not get clumpy, separates my lashes well and does not weigh them down at all. I usually like to do two coats because I enjoy pretending that I look like a cat-eyed doll, but one coat is enough to give you a natural but still very defined effect.
I can’t recommend it enough for those that want volume and a more dramatic effect while still getting the lenghthening and lifting benefits of a mascara. I do have to give the disclaimer that my lashes are naturally curled, but this keeps them super lifted all day, and even when I take it off. As you can see in the second picture showcasing my curled naked lashes vs. with the mascara, the effect is still natural and not spidery (to my taste at least) unlike a lot of formulas available in the west.
If you’re also a panda that does not want to be identified as one in public, you should try this. I’ve tried tubing mascara before (heavy rotation volume mascara) and tears melted it off my face and sometimes it would flake too. But this? I get caught in the pouring rain, sweat my sins off while working out and may only take my makeup off after 24h and it will look brand new. I suppose it’s safe enough to lose your dignity with and keep looking intact. It truly helps that despite being apocalypse proof, it’s not impossible to remove either as long as you use a proper biphase eye makeup remover and does not rip any of my lashes off.
Verdict:
One more treasure for the panda club 🐼! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This review definitely has me feeling hopeful!! As someone with really oily lids who’s prone to panda eyes I am always recommended specific waterproof and tubing mascaras. I have tried SO many and none of them have worked well for me. I’m going to buy it right now lol

**Eye type:** Panda 🐼 with extremely oily lids.
Before its reformulation, I had only tried the [long formula version](https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/na5a4u/review_heroine_make_long_curl_mascara_on_oily_lids/) which I liked a lot.
