I took a break on doing my nails for a (long) while. Most of my polish is 8-10 years old. I did my nails last night, and while the polish looks good and the consistency was good, the smell was so strong it was really hard to tolerate. It gave me a wicked headache.
It also kind of smelled like formaldehyde or something like that. (I used to be a science teacher so unfortunately I know what it smells like.)
Does nail polish chemically change over time? Does it expire or “go bad?”
