Second nail set of December but I did not feel holly jolly while doing it

Kicking off the second week of December with these shimmery red peppermint swirls 🎅🍬 Wish this set was as fun to do as it is to look at, though, because I did NOT have a good time painting it on. 😭 I started this set on Sunday WAY later than I wanted to because of stomach issues, and it was the night before the last day of classes, so I was kind of rushing to get this done so I could go to bed on time. This led to me being less careful than I usually am whenever I'm painting my nails, so I ended up smudging one of my thumbs, getting cheese sauce on one of my fingers from a microwave mac and cheese cup because I got hungry, and spent a whole extra HOUR redoing some of them because I didn't like the topper I used.

Monday morning didn't bring much respite because thanks to the top coat I used, I got bedsheet marks in all my beatiful nail art. 😭 The thumbs and pinkies were also just a shimmery red when I finished the night before, but I thought they looked too plain. So before class, I tried adding some snowflake nail art (pic 3), and it SUUUUUUCKED, especially on the pinkies. The liner brushes aren't nearly thin enough, so they ended up looking super bulky and tacky. 💔 Once I got back to my dorm, I decided to redo the thumbs and pinkies entirely with the white dot border pictured, but I smudged a finger AGAIN when I was checking to see if it was dry after slathering on my usual QDTC. 🤡 Had to do some touch-ups to fix jt, but after that, the set was finally, FINALLY complete.

Honestly feel kinda bittersweet about this set because while it did turn out cute looking in the end, the amount of issues I ran into trying to complete it has also made me resent it. It's STILL giving me issues even after it's done because the polish on my middle and pointer fingers is chipped and peeling. 💔 TBF, my nails are on their last legs and in need of a dire refresh anyways, but man, it just feels like one thing after another. At least it's done now, and I can happily scrub it off when it's time for next week's set. 🫠
