My lacquer just keeps peeling off as whole pieces and im not sure why. Its happened the last two times now. Its deborah lipmann gel lab base and top coat (1 coat each), and mooncat house of hades (3 coats). But last time it happened with a different mooncat lacquer, essie nail strengthener and mooncat topcoat.

  1. No expert here but do you dry your nail bed with alcohol or acetone immediately before? Cound be oils keeping it from properly adhering. T

This looks like an issue with prep & application.

For prep: Make sure you’re gently pressing back the proximal nail fold & eponychium right before you paint. After a few hours it will relax back down and cover more of the top again. Don’t press the lateral nail folds back, but you do want to gently scrape away any cuticle residue left on the nail plate around the proximal and lateral nail folds.

For application: try to leave a tiny gap between your polish and the edges of your skin. It’s counter-intuitive because we think the „best“ application is a full-coverage one, but if you leave a little gap along both sides and the top, you’ll get **way** better retention.
