This is the first flakie polish I've bought in more than a decade. Back in the early 2010s flakies were so hard to get on, get even and smooth with topcoat. Not to mention a pain to get off. I only kept two random toppers from that era.
When I was drawn back to the indie polish world in 2023, I avoided large glitters and flakes until it occured to me that all other formulas were better now, self leveling and more forgiving of brush strokes.
This was so easy to paint on. I didn't need to rework over any patchy areas. It was smooth as hell and easy to remove 5 days later.
Colour: Paint it Pretty – Rainbow Flare
Top: SH Dries Instantly
Base: Paint It Pretty sticky base
The third photo has a top layer of Pacifica matte topper.
This is of course dangerous as there are entire ranges I had ruled out as difficult that I might buy now.

Side note do you remember back in those days everyone put matte topcoat over flakies to make them pop more?
