PIXY is an Indonesian drugstore brand that has been around since the 90s. It’s owned by Mandom Indonesia and they used to lean into their “Japanese” identity a lot (even just 10 years ago), but they’ve embraced their “local brand” status nowadays haha. I think they’re also available in Malaysia and maybe even Singapore and Brunei?? Unsure tbh….
Anw, I recently blind bought some products from their shopee official store, including these 3 Hydraglass Lip Tints. I’ve been using them on and off for the past 2 weeks and I have some thoughts. I’m posting my swatches + mini review here in case anyone might be interested in the tints 🙂
The formula is very lightweight and watery, I p much couldn’t really feel it on my lips. It stains quick, but you can easily remove the stain with micellar water. It’s also non-sticky nor stringy and very comfortable to wear. However, it’s streaky / patchy and is pretty messy when I want to do a full application. Which is a massive shame, bc they’re advertised as non-patchy & all of their models wear full applications 🙁 I have to clean it up so it’ll look nice, which I didn’t do on my swatches. I haven’t used it with a lip liner yet, however they don’t layer well with other products nor each other.
03 Pinky Popsicle is a lot warmer on my lips than I anticipated. It’s still wearable as a thin layer, but I can’t wear a full application bc it’s simply too warm on me.
04 is a very gorgeous color and I love it a lot. It looks good as a thin layer and as a full application (after I clean it up) on me.
05 Raspberry Tart pulls a lot redder on me! It’s a blue-ish red instead of a purplish berry, so it’s the most different compared to how it looks on the models. You can see the berry on my arm swatch, but not on my lips. Also neither of them are purplish, just red.
Honestly I’m not that disappointed, just annoyed. I don’t mind the color differences, but the formula being streaky and p difficult to work with (for a full application) annoys me a lot. But then again, they’re only 45K each, so 🙃
