I got an acrylic with shellac mani/pedi, it’s the first time I’ve ever got them done at a store/professionally and not by a friend or myself. I absolutely loooove them and I’m just wondering what can I do to 1)ensure the wellbeing of my natural nails and 2) how to properly care for them? I know I need to go get them refilled or removed in 3/4 weeks and use a good lotion daily, preferably with a good nails oil too. But is there anything this newbie should know about?
And for any criticism, yes I should’ve done more research beforehand but ya girl had an impromptu date later that evening and my nails were looking crusty and I needed a confidence boost 🥹

what i’ve heard is, definitely use gloves when doing dishes/using cleaning products if you don’t already. also cuticle oil is your friend. it’ll nourish you cuticles and the nails under. also a good hand cream works wonders as well. also also, don’t use the nails as a “tool”. like when opening soda cans or trying pry open boxes, it’ll mess up the paint and potentially break the nail. your nails are gorgeous!!!
