Review

Shades: Bitten is what I hoped Clinique's Black Honey would be! A wine-like berry that is a bit more opaque. It looks like a mauvey blush color on my tanned brown complexion on a first and heavy application, but throughout the day, it fades into a pinkish rose that I somewhat dislike that slowly becomes less noticeable through the hours.

Sunburnt is warm and sheer red. I like that it isn't a traditional bright popsicle stick red found in traditional lip tints, but a more muted, moody, warm red that looks quite mature or bloody. Truly one of my favorites in my collection and leaves a bright red stain on the lips that remains after several hours.

These shades are very flattering for those with a medium tan skin town. I'm surprised these moodier, classier colors came from the Filipino market. They're not often known for shades with nuanced hues that work for those with skin tones at the medium to dark range of tan.

Formula: A light gel tint that's buildable. The first heavy layer and its shine will leave after blotting/drinking/eating of course, but they leave either a light or deep stain depending on the shade. I'd also use Sunburnt for my cheeks sometimes, but it's not the best at being blush/eyeshadow. However, after a year of owning these lip tints, I noticed that they've begun taking a more chemical taste, like soap, and it can be quite disgusting. If you don't use them often, I also notice that the tint can separate between the gel suspension and color.

Thoughts

These shades are lighter, sheerer, and more wearable versions of the Merzy Mellow Tints I reviewed before. I think they're brown skin-friendly and glad to see Filipino brands stepping up with these unique colors. But I would love to hear alternatives/dupes from other Asian brands – especially as I can't get them easily and I don't really like how the lip tints seem to expire very quickly.
