Every single time I have gotten gels done, the nail tech has gotten gel on my skin.

I keep switching nail techs hoping the next person will be more careful, and every time I go home and have to clip off cured pieces of gel around my nail.

I’m trying not to have a full-blown crash out because I’m already allergic to bandaids and some other adhesives.

So I have three questions:

1) Are there any safer alternatives to gels that can give me a similar designs as gels (cat eye, French tip, metallics, jelly, etc) and a similar feel? Regular polish always looks uneven to me and I feel like I have to baby my hands. I love the feel of gels and the design possibilities, but the risk seems so high and I end up having a panic attack every time.

2) Is this normal to have happen or have I just gotten all careless techs? I go to reputable places with licenses, but even their most experienced artists leave me with gel on my skin.

3) I have an event on Thursday, can I have the gels safely removed on Friday or Saturday without damaging my nail? I just had them done today (Tuesday). My biggest fear is having a HEMA/acrylate allergy.

TIA!
