Just finished this set as part of my Halloween nails, but TBH, I'm not really feeling it. Objectively, it looks fine, but I'm still feeling kinda "meh" about it, especially the shimmer. In specific lighting, like the flash on my phone, it looks AMAZING, but outside of that… 🤷🏾♂️ I wonder if this would have looked better with a more scattered linear or reflective topper (neither of which I own sadly 💔) or if I should have kept it all black like I intended, since the shimmer was kind of an impulse decision. Or maybe the design as a whole just isn't really giving Halloween? This set is supposed to match with my witch/mage costume, but this feels almost too general and doesn't feel as distinctly fall/Halloween-y like my previous sets did. IDK, am I being too hard on myself, or do these need a redo?

These are the concept sketches I did before settling on the last design
Idk what your costume looks like, but your nail art is 🔥!
Your moon on the middle fingie might be obscuring too much of the color base. Which might be drawing your eye. Maybe reduce it in size and do the moon with dots you have mocked up in your drawings in more scale to your other star bursts.
I’m biased because I love a good celestial theme. That background color is gorgeous. The design is impeccable. Maybe it’s how stark the white is against the base color? Maybe the white needs to be toned with some yellow or grey?
i think they’re gorgeous!! maybe the fact that Halloween moon patterns are usually more yellowy is the thing throwing you off? You could always try testing a nail with a plain black base and some yellow mixed into the white. it’s DEFINITELY giving witchy!
It’s looks great to me
I have a very similar manicure right now but I used charms (from SHEIN) for the stars/moon
