Perhaps it'ss an unpopular opinion, but hear me out: half my insecurities growing up came from mirrors, not insta.
I had this absolutely awful bathroom mirror at my parents place that made me look grey and tired and hghkey dead no matter what. Bc of that I’d avoid photos and even skipped going out sometimes because I thought I looked like so bad. But I didn't stop practicing make-up. And one day a friend took a candid photo of me at a party and I was shocked bc I actually looked good?? My make-up looked good!! That was the first time it clicked. Then I finally bought a proper mirror (mine’s from https://fancii.com/ and I'm obsessed).
I wasn't ugly, I'm not ugly. I’d just been looking at myself through a piece of glass that warped everything.
Get a better mirror now.
