Terrible membership program with opaque rules and conditions. Just see the length of their faqs for membership. Yet they still aggressively sell membership card to ineligible customers.

Went Malaysia bought some stuffs from Watsons. Cashier staff told me to get membership for more discounts. I told her I'm not local and would the membership work? Even asked will the membership card in other countries? She told me can use in all Watsons store in any countries. Even when activating the card, staff knew I don't have malaysian number yet still proceeds to onboard me.

Went back SG tried to register and link my card. Failed.

Emailed them to ask for help. TADA …

… why tell me can use in all Watsons internationally. Went to registered with Watsons Malaysia and again unable to complete registration because a valid Malaysian mobile number is required. I can't even check how many points I have in my card much less to know what I can redeem.

The audacity to call their membership program "One Pass" when now I'm being told to get another pass? How many "One Pass" does one need? 🤪

  • I'm not angry because of paying RM20 for that useless card. Neither do I care about getting the money back.
  • I'm angry because they are misleading people to sign up for your loyalty program …

I don't blame the staffs. The staffs at Watsons are all very nice. They merely did what they were trained. This mess is caused by the upper and middle management. This is how they train their staff at Watsons. Pushing and selling membership to every non-member customers, even when it's not something applicable to them.

People who are willing to sign up for their loyalty program are the ones who have certain trust on their brand. Yet they sold me this trash. It belongs to the trash bin.

This is on the upper and middle management of Watsons who're the architect of this horrendously designed membership program. I want to emphasis again, that the staffs at Watsons retail shops are extremely nice and I do not blame them at all. They were just trained and did what was told by the management.

If I kept quiet, the management would just continue to get away with this bullshit of aggressively pushing the membership to people who won't see any benefits of it. I wrote this to raise awareness people won't be misled like I did and waste their time and money with these useless membership card.

Don't bother with a membership card that has so many rules and faqs. This thing belongs to the trash bin.
