Hi! Muted cool summer girl here 🌸 These are my swatches and mini-reviews of all the lip products I currently own (from top to bottom):
Melixir Vegan Lip Butter – 18 Vintage Lust
A beautiful brick red shade, but the color doesn’t show up much unless you apply multiple layers. On my lips, it leans a bit more red compared to the swatch. It’s essentially a tinted lip balm, okay for a quick touch-up on the go, but in air-conditioned environments, I don’t find it very moisturizing. I actually prefer using it as a blush, since it lasts longer on my cheeks and gives a subtle cream-wet finish that makes the blush look really fresh and pretty. 3/5 WRP
[non-AB] MAC Macximal Silky Matte Lipstick – 664 Get the Hint
Great formula: a matte lipstick that isn’t drying at all. That said, there are plenty of similar matte options at lower price points. 4/5 WRP
Hera Sensual Nude Gloss (old ver.) 462 Speechless
I have a love-hate relationship with this one. I adore the color, the minty feeling on the lip, and how moisturizing it feels. The color itself fades within an hour if you’re not eating or drinking, though the gloss and hydration really do last all day. I understand that short wear time is expected from a gloss, but the shine can feel a bit too much, so I only reach for it when I’m in a specific mood. Overall, it’s nice but not quite worth the high price for me. 3/5 WRP
Romand Dewyful Water Tint – 13 Custard Mauve
My HG! I reach for this the most. The color flatters me perfectly, lasts long, and even after eating and drinking it leaves a gorgeous tint, not that bright fuchsia pink stain many lip tints tend to leave (which I dislike). Honestly, I prefer this formula over Romand’s Juicy Lasting Tint (both old and new versions). This shade is rare in that I don’t need a base lip color to get the same result as the official swatches. 5/5 RP
Good Day Peptide Plumping Lip Butter – Mulberry Wine
A Vietnamese local brand, and kind of like a more affordable version of the Rhode Peptide Lip. I really like it! It’s a simple tinted balm. The color doesn’t last long, but that’s not really the point. It’s super moisturizing, and I use it a lot since I work in an air-conditioned environment. The only downside is that sometimes when squeezing the tube, the texture can get a little runny, and the essence leaks slightly through the packaging, not messy, but noticeable. 4/5 RP
