This is an update for both July and August, as I missed my previous update. The photo from the 1st of August is still included, because I think it’s more satisfying to see all the photos.
July and August weren’t as sunny as I expected, so I split my focus between Cupid and Fragonard. As I mentioned previously, Cupid works great as a one-and-done eyeshadow, and Lovers pairs amazingly with it. But most of my uses for it were in July, as I barely wore makeup in August, and then focused on finishing Fragonard.
I used up Fragonard on the 27th of August, after 93 uses this year, and 215 tracked uses in total. This was a beautiful shifty eyeshadow, but it was quite old. It started fading more quickly and creasing more easily, so I’m glad I got my full worth and use out of it.
As we’re in the last third of the year, I’m rethinking my goals and what could be achievable. I reached my goals of 50 uses for Lovers and Rogue, and I’ll try to do the same with Garden. This is the eyeshadow I’m having the most trouble with this year, and I’ll try not to be hard on myself about it. I’m sure I can use up Cupid, so I’ll focus on it again during September. For Stolen Kiss, I believe I will continue using it here and there, but I’m not sure I will manage to use it up. I’ll be repressing it for the ease of use, although I’m sad there won’t be more pan expansion on it because of that.
**Goals for July and August:**
* focus eyeshadow: Cupid – want to use at least x10
* This is a fine eyeshadow. Originally, it was a Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow, and as far as I can tell, this is the glitter formula (from the ones I own or have tried) with the least amount of fallout. The colour is very summer-appropriate and I love it for that, but if I manage to finish it, I won’t be missing this colour too much in my collection. It also looks great as a nail polish topper, but again, I will live if it’s gone. I love the way it sparkles when worn as one-and-done, especially in the sun, and the sparkles pop even more with a simple highlighter in the inner corner.
* use Fragonard x5
* After seeing how little there was left, I focused on it hard and wore it for a few days in a row. My boyfriend loved the look of this eyeshadow, especially upon first application. The shift is beautiful, and I loved to wear it with blue clothes. However, I’m glad I used it up, and I doubt I will repurchase something similar for a while.
**Uses this month and total uses this year in brackets:**
* Lovers x30 (70)
* Cupid x15 (53)
* Bluff – used up in January
* Stolen Kiss x5 (44)
* Confession – used up in March
* Fragonard x15 (93)
* Love Letter – used up in May
* Garden x2 (16)
* Rouge x13 (56)
**Goals for September:**
* focus eyeshadow: Cupid – want to use at least x10
* try Cupid over Garden
* use Garden x5
