Hi everyone, i know this is a controversial topic…

I live in central London and I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon all the time. It’s very convenient because things are cheap and arrive next day. I can return everything for free within a month at the Amazon fresh that’s downstairs from my house. It has a decent selection of Korean skincare and sunscreens and I enjoy getting it from there over OY because it’s faster and cheaper. It’s more convenient than OY, Sephora, whatever else, because this is where I get my shopping and everything else too.

I have been ordering on Amazon since I’ve gotten into skincare like 2 years back and have only had 1 bad experience. I was trying to order pair acne cream (j-beauty) but I don’t think I paid good attention because whatever arrived didn’t look like the actual cream, so i think this one is on me. I reordered the right one.

However, I see on Reddit that many people are really against shopping on Amazon because it doesn’t verify the sellers. So my question is, is there a realistic scenario in which it’s totally okay to buy skincare on Amazon? Or would you absolutely never do it?

Like here’s an example of a product that’s extremely popular. And, it says it’s from Cosrx and the package looks correct like it does on other retailers and videos. So most of the products I buy are like that as well. But of course, the seller could just pretend to be real, I don’t know if there’s any verification on that. So I’d love to hear your honest opinion on this topic. Please educate me. I want to know whether I should really make an effort to buy my skincare elsewhere (OY, yesstyle, stylevanna, Sephora, etc.) or whether it’s really not that bad if I’m cautious and attentive. Thank you! 🙏🏼😄

TLDR: my mom wants this cream. She’s visiting for a short time. If I order on Amazon, it will arrive tmr. If I order on OY, it will take at least a week. So, is this cream okay to order from Amazon? Or any other skincare ever?
