When it comes to sunscreen, I donβt require a lot from it as long as it can keep me from sun damage and provide me with a rather lightweight texture(lots of sunscreens out there are too greasy to accept) . I am an oily and sensitive skin. I have to give a shout out to this Beauty of Joseonβs Relief Sun Aqua-fresh sunscreen. Using this product for a month makes me understand why many people are fond of k-beauty and k-skincare. During this month, I keep tracking my skin condition by using an skincare app. And the core metrics I use to monitor my skin are the level of my pimples, pores, and redness. Everyday I just take selfie 20 minute after applying sunscreen and see if my redness and other level gets worse. I also note down how I feel, whether all not the sunscreen cause my skin itchy and tickling. Here is the result:
First, my pimples level decreased by 30%, pores level decreased by 10%, redness level decreased by 40%. The results surprise me, but this sunscreen is not the only contributor. I also use other skincare products to improve my skin condition. But just like I said, I donβt need a lot from it as long as it can provide me the basic function. Some sunscreens could easily clog my pores because they have a greasy texture, or make my skin tickling. But this one is fine. Here is the pro & con. (The one I am using is Korean version, not the US one (I heard that the US one is more greasy than the Koreanβs one)
Pros
* Ultra-light, watery texture β absorbs fast and feels like a skincare layer.
* Fresh, non-greasy finish that sits well under makeup.
* Soothing/hydrating notes (rice/ferment extracts + panthenol) β good for sensitive skin.
* High protection (SPF50+/PA++++) with a pleasant everyday feel.
Cons
* Brief tacky phase after application β wait ~30β60s before makeup.
* Not designed to control oil long-term; T-zone may get shiny in heat.
* Uses chemical UV filters (some people with reactive skin may prefer mineral options).
* Slightly pricier than basic drugstore SPFs.
