There is a Japanese Lifestyle Store in my city that only sells (from what I can tell) imported Japanese products. Have these been reformulated to meet FDA requirements? Specifically the sunscreen?

I am hoping not, but if not, how are they able to sell these products when places like Target can only sell reformatted Asian sunscreen?

  1. No the sunscreen would have a β€œdrug facts” label it’s required by law on us sunscreen. The less popular sunscreens are likely safe for now I’d imagine it’s way too expensive and not profitable enough for the small and less popular brands to formulate a brand new sunscreen that isn’t a big seller in the US. They’re not exactly getting away with it. It’s still technically illegal for them to sell this in the US as a US based retailer the stakes for getting caught are much larger for a mega company like target if they got caught. The FDA has really begun cracking down on it so I wouldn’t be surprised if their supply dries up in the coming months if things stay the same
