please share all the lip tints you’ve ever tried, in order of most to least favourite – i need to know the true queen(s) of lip tints! 🤭

my personal ranking with little to no explanation:

    1. peripera ink mood glowy tint (to be honest i need to wear this out longer but on first application i loved it)

    2. romand glasting water tint (would be on par with #1 if it had a wider shade range [begging romand to release all GWTs in JLT shades]! the gloss lasts SO long)

    3. romand juicy lasting tint (can be a little drying, but the shade range is totally unbeatable – figfig, nucadamia, bare grape, peeling angdoo are… perfection)

    5. canmake juicy lip tint (love the feel but it’s very pigmented, which could be a good thing but i prefer a more subtle look)

    4. romand dewyful water tint (it was alright, not bad but nothing special compared to the others)

i wasn’t even that into lip tints at first because i was applying them wrongly – learnt on tiktok that you’re NOT meant to smack or rub your lips together after application and that changed my life.

edit: here are the 3 tiktoks i watched to finally learn how to use lip tints correctly! 🫣 i don’t own a lip liner so i don’t bother with that step but if i’m feeling more high effort or don’t want the gradient look on a particular day, i just wipe off excess on my lip tint applicator and use that as a lip liner 🥰

    [second](https://www.tiktok.com/@ally222_/video/7287301679270186283)

    [third](https://www.tiktok.com/@sarahkchey/video/7258104106080914695)

what i notice is that letting the lip tints sit normally allows the tint to separate and fully go into your lips, while the gloss forms a smooth layer atop. when i smack or rub my lips together after application this gloss layer gets disrupted and looks subpar. and for some reason my lips get dryer when i do that 🥲

    1. Etude dear darling water tint has buildable coverage. I like the translucent effect. The grapefruit color is the perfect daytime red.

Peripera ink velvet was caking up for me.

    2. hmm i think my personal ranking would be:
      1. peripera ink mood glowy tint – comfy to wear, and cute to display c:
      2. dasique juicy dewy tint – this is so mid to me that i kind of feel like it shouldn’t be second place, but i can’t really think of any reason it shouldn’t be? just a very basic, inoffensive lip tint; my main complaint is that the serif text on the back is kind of ugly lol
      3. etude fixing tint – would be higher up but i’m in my glossy lip era rn
      4. forencos tattoo clair velvet tint – nice formula, but most of the colors are too saturated for me :c also stains a little too well for someone who messes up during application as much as me
      5. unleashia non-sticky dazzle tint – formula was fine, didn’t like the glitters
      6. flower knows little angel feather liquid lipstick – i bought this mainly for the packaging but the formula is okay; it’s just a little too silicone-y for my personal preferences
      7. rom&nd juicy lasting tint – ok formula, lovely colors, but i hate the smell
      8. etude dear darling water gel tint – would only stain the inner parts of my lips and nowhere else :/ the smell was so good though. if they pivoted to making drinks i would buy those for sure

i’m not very picky abt lip tints so if i had no major complaints they’re just ordered by how much i like their packaging lmao

    3. Excuse me, you can’t just mention this tiktok and not share it!! 👁️👄👁️I also apply by rubbing and I need to learrrrrrn

      – pale plum
      3.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
it has a really nice formula, doesn’t make ur lips chapped. but i CANNOT justify the price. its 2x the price of peripera and romand, it was an impulse purchase otherwise wouldn’t have bought it.

lovely shades and very sheer but buildable

    5. love-at-third-sight on

I never smack or rub my lips together after application because I have vertical lip lines and it’ll ruin the smooth finish of the lip product 🤧

      Anyhoo my top five 😀

      1. Revlon Jelly Lip Tints – applicator is A+, the thin formula makes it easy to wear on the lips (I don’t like how goopy other tints can be), fragrance free, and the shades are very wearable and pretty.

      2. SILKYGIRL mlbb lip tint – these last FOREVER. I wear them at work and they last through masks, drinks, lunch, snacks… And they’re cheap.

      3. Etude House Fixing Tints – I absolutely love the longevity of these lippies, they have a great shade range and they really last a long time.

      4. Kate Tokyo Lip Monster – goes on glossy, and throughout the day gets less glossy until you’re left with a long lasting tint. A really gorgeous formula and a reliable option for me to take on holidays where I’ll be super busy and don’t want to touch up at all 😁

      5. Happy Skin Lip Mallow Tints – a SEA dupe for the amuse velvet tints ☺️🙏 these are so light on the lips and they are gorgeously smoothing and non drying on the lips. They’re not bulletproof compared to the others on this list but they do last longer than most glossy lip tints because they have a more matte finish.

Things I prioritize: elegant longevity is so so important to me because touching up my lipstick is not ideal as it builds up uneven layers on my lips. I need it to fade gracefully and look pretty all day. The formula >>>> color, packaging, price, brand. I do tend to find in Western beauty the more $$$ I spend the better results I get but haven’t noticed that pattern in AB yet (thank goodness!!)
