After rotating through a slew of concealers over the past two years, I’ve sat me down and decided to work on each one – one at a time- to get through them! And boy do these concealers last a long time. I didn’t get a clean “concealer tube pan” despite working at these tubes with cotton buds and scraping it fervently for a week though! Towards the end it felt less like applying makeup and more an obsessive excavation itch 😂
The Saem Perfection Tip Concealer 1.5
– Creamy, great coverage, no patchiness
– My daily go-to
– Piles very rarely – I rotate skincare alot but can’t really remember a significant time its piled
– Robust applicator (more on that later)
– Great size for makeup purses
– This tiny tube packs a lot of product. According to my online receipts, I purchased this in March 2022 (and have been using it reasonably consistently since!)
Tarte Ultra Shape Tape Concealer 20B
– Generally unimpressed with Tarte’s concealers after trying a few of them. I’m almost done with two more (finally!) so can say that I’ve tried a spectrum of them
– Patchy and piles easily. I remember this being very sensitive to the type of skincare applied with respect to piling/flaking/rolling
– Dried out so fast compared to the Saem one, despite this being newer and always tightly closed
– The doe tip applicator broke off. I don’t know what it is about Tarte’s applicators, but all three of my Tarte concealers (normal and mini size, different formulations) applicators broke at some place along the line and had to use cotton buds to use it up. It wasn’t a “stress break” from force, more like the plastic just …blippily decided to crumble at a joint or just popped out or something one fine day!
Saturday Skin Probiotic Moisturizer
– Nice creamy texture, almost like applying a foam face wash (before the foamy part of course)
– Good for daytime coverage but a little too light for nighttime coverage
– Nothing particularly bad to say about this, but nothing particularly special either! The texture really is pretty though.
