I’ve been loyal to Skin Aqua UV Gel Gold for a long time—it’s my go-to, my ride-or-die. I’m a bit late trying the latest version, but after reading some mixed reviews, I had to see for myself. Luckily, I still had a bit of the old one left, so I was able to compare them side by side.
I have oily skin, and I’ve always loved the gold line for its lightweight texture and natural glow. The new formula still has that slight alcohol scent and smooth glide—it’s not super fast-drying, but it still applies nicely. That said, I’ve seen people complain that the finish is too dewy now—and honestly? They’re not wrong. The old one gave the perfect glow. The new one? It’s definitely dewy. You’ll need to blot for sure. My face feels like it’s glowing into the future.
Since I don’t go out much, I can get away with a shiny face but I’m still a bit disappointed. I loved the old version and this new version just doesn’t hit the same. I like Skin Aqua for their formulas, size options and prices, so this one stings a bit.
I also gave the blue version a try for the first time. It’s much thicker and way more moisturizing—not ideal for oily skin at all. I’ll probably just use that one for my body instead.
