Hi! I always look up reviews to decide what sunscreens might work for me, so I'm returning the favor with a review of 6 I've tried in the past year. In order of least favorite to most favorite. The links are just so you can see which product I am referring to.

  1. Biore watery gel SPF 50 PA ++++
    I bought this while in Japan. I think I bought the wrong one lol bc the gel version has a white cast!? I have a medium/light skin tone. I also had issues with the formula separating. I cracked it open about 6 months after purchasing and it was super patchy until I shook it up a TON. I gave this away. WNRP

  1. Etude sunprise airy finish SPF 50 PA ++++
    Holy smokes was this a drying sunscreen! Oily skin might love this. It also had a white cast for me. I did use up the whole bottle, but only used it on WFH days when I was breaking out. I do feel like it was good for drying out my acne. It has the most matte finish of all of these but also heavy fragrance. WNRP but I could see why oily skin would like it

  1. Kose suncut tone up (lavender) SPF 50 PA++++
    I also bought this while in Japan. I did not realize tone up meant intentional white cast/tint. So that was my bad, I did not like the white cast on my skin tone. It did have a nice matte finish and if I had a lighter skintone might like this a lot. WNRP

  1. Kose suncut perfect essence SPF 50 PA++++
    This used to be my holy grail but I think they refumulated it. It was SHINY. I had to use a powder over top, but if you want glass skin this might be it. Another concern was that this formula felt like it "melted" if I put it over my non-AB vit C serum. Didn't have that issue with any other spfs. It made me wonder if I was distrusting the film forming ability. WNRP

  1. Dr. Cureacle waterproof SPF 50 PA++++
    Um wow how have I never seen this mentioned before? It's amazing! I bought it to find something waterproof for when I'm actually doing outdoor activities. It was similar to the kose essence except it didn't "melt" and the finish was less shiny. This one I could just blot with a tissue an hour after applying and it would become a skin like finish. Non scented, no white cast. WRP

  1. Haruharu wonder black rice moisture airyfit SPF 50 PA++++
    This one was my favorite. Lovely velvet matte finish. I was complemented on my glowy skin twice after using this one. No white cast. The only downside is that it's a little thick for the summertime for my combo skin. Perfect for fall and winter. WRP
