I posted a few months ago looking for a natural tinted lip balm that wasn’t too glossy. The recent high shine lip balm trend à la Romand Glasting Melting Balm is so beautiful but just not practical for me on the daily (corporate job, want something nourishing I can slap on without a mirror). I have tan skin and pigmented lips but they go white/grey and dead looking if I don’t apply anything.

I ordered a bunch of balms recently but I’ve found the one I’ll keep repurchasing forever!!! The Nivea Rich Care & Color in Bordeaux.

This is truly a tinted balm – it has the slightly oily feeling of a lip balm rather than the sticky feeling of a gloss, and for me is the perfect amount of pigmentation. Not too sheer (the Burt’s bees tinted balm in Dahlia might as well be clear on me), not too pigmented (similar to Clinique Black Honey in the translucent shine it gives, but with less pigment and therefore easier to wear). On me, the shade is similar to Black Honey but slightly less brown, and overall more forgiving since it’s so sheer.

It’s just perfect 10/10. I bought on yesstyle and will probably keep repurchasing forever.

I also purchased Romand Glasting Melting balm in Scotch Nude, but on me the pigmentation and shade make it more of a “look.” I also purchased two Canmake balms (both the new and older versions, I can pull exact names later). The shades were too orange on me, the formula was nice but a little more matte/dry so I prefer the Nivea.
