So my go-to foundation is NARS light reflecting foundation in shade Gobi. It’s a neutral shade with slight yellowness to it. I’ve been wanting a cushion foundation in a similar shade, so I got the TirTir maskfit cushion foundation samples.
So I applied these foundations using a flat foundation brush & let them sit on my arm for like 15-20 to observe the oxidation. And girl…. it oxidized 😭
When I was staring at them in my room, shades 13N & 17N look slightly orange, so I took a flash pic (last photo). It doesn’t look bad on camera, but in person, it was giving Oompa Loompa.
I went in my kitchen towards the window and took another pic, and you can kind of see how the upper and bottom swatches do have an orange to them.
I went back to swatch 17W to see how yellow it could be despite TirTir’s maskfit cushion line being known for having crazy oxidation. And honestly, it wasn’t too bad. There’s still a slight orangey/pinkiness to it, but definitely better than the other 2. I went outside to see how all the swatches looked next to the NARS swatch & I think shade 17W was my favorite. In person & in the sunlight, it was the closest to the NARS swatch.
My conclusion: While it’s not THE perfect match, compared to the other samples I’ve tested, it’s better than nothing 😭 Plus, I can fix it if needed.
