Hi everyone! Not new to AB but I’ve been testing a few products so here’s a short review of each of them so far. Disclaimer that everyone’s skin is different so what works/doesn’t work for me may be totally different for you
Skin type: combination, sensitive
Climate: hot and humid (Malaysia)
Current skincare routine:
BOJ Cleansing Balm (PM only)
Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser (PM only)
Cosrx Synergy Propolis Toner (AM & PM)
SKIN1004 Centella Ampoule (AM & PM)
Western brand Caffeine Eye Serum (AM & PM)
Hada Labo Water Gel Moisturizer (AM & PM)
Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ PA++++ (AM only)
Reviews:
1. SKIN1004 Centella Ampoule: I wasn’t expecting it to be such a watery consistency however its super easy to apply on the skin. I feel like my skin just drinks this up. Only used for about a week, but I’m not having any irritation or reactions to it. My skin feels very hydrated after using it and I have noticed the texture of my skin improving as well. So far, I’m liking it!
2. SKIN1004 Light Cleansing Oil: I’ve used a few times and I’m glad I got the mini 30ml bottle because I don’t think it’s suitable for my skin. After using it I found I had lots of tiny white bumps, some redness, and mild breakouts. I’m not sure what is in it that my skin doesn’t like; I was really wanting to love this product as its marketed for sensitive skin. After eliminating this from my routine and going back to my BOJ Cleansing Balm, my skin improved. Kinda sad about it 🙁 Has anyone had this experience with this Cleansing oil too?
3. Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser: maybe my nose is more sensitive, but there is a scent to this Cleanser. It is fragrance free, so I’m not sure how to describe the smell as. Ive seen some say it smells a little plastic-y? It’s not off-putting for me though. This doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped at all and I really like the gentle exfoliation. Leaves my skin feeling smooth and clean. Even if I don’t use my oil Cleanser and just use this, my skin feels alright! Would definitely repurchase
4. Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Lotion: so this lotion can be used as a moisturizer and body lotion. Typically my face does not enjoy cream-type moisturizers which is why I stick to gels, so I’ve only ever used this on my body. I love that it’s unscented and it doesn’t leave my body feeling sticky. The bottle is also HUGE so it’ll last a long time. Great for sensitive skin and it’s even suitable for babies!
5. Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ PA++++: does contain alcohol which is a downside for me; did not know this before purchasing it. I have rather fair skin so to me it doesn’t leave a white cast. I have noticed that if I were moisturizer under this sunscreen, my face looks oily and shiny for hours but I don’t think that’s solely the sunscreens fault? It’s smooth and blends easily, but I don’t think I’ll repurchase this one as I’m not really in love with it.
