I did a little swatch comparison for myself and thought I’d share!
Photos were taken in cloudy overcast lighting, both with and without flash.
Violet Strawberry Rococo (VSR) is swatched in order from left to right (1-5) while Mermaid’s Dream (MD) is out of order because I wanted to see some of the shades next to each other.
MATTES
The 3 matte pink shades are quite similar with subtle differences. The VSR 3 middle pink and the MD 2 pink are the most similar, and can be applied quite lightly to work pretty well as base shades (at least for my skin tone). The other shades are all pretty pigmented and I don’t have any trouble getting them to show up. Really loving the hues of the VSR 5 purple and the MD 2 periwinkle.
GLITTERS
The glitters are very buildable, especially in VSR. I think the VSR 2 pink glitter builds up particularly well with a very strong rose gold pink hue.
MD glitters in contrast are a bit more sheer and take a bit more to build up. The MD 3 pale pink glitter doesn’t look pink at all when applied, it’s more of a champagne-y gold.
Tbh, a little disappointed with VSR being such a pink-focussed palette with only one actual purple despite having “violet” in the name. However I knew that and bought it anyways because I love the packaging, and the one purple shade works well with the pinks. All in all I’m still quite pleased with these two palettes and glad to have them both despite the similarities between them. I don’t mind the similarities toooo too much because I do enjoy the convenience of being able to do my entire eye look with just one palette. It’s my first time buying Flower Knows and they are just so pretty. Also I really love the magnetic closure, it’s so satisfying!
