TLDR; whose advice, wisdom and/or recommendations do you follow religiously? Can be anyone from a dermatologist on YouTube, to a clearly experienced beauty expert on IG, to a beloved commenter here on reddit.

First and foremost, this sub and the Asian Beauty community are together my #1 guru. If I have a question about skincare or am curious about a product, anything, I come here first.
Now that I’m immersed in this world (ie know the lingo, brands, product types and can wax poetic on sunscreen), I’ve realized how invaluable the advice of others still is. There is no way to know everything, the more you know the more questions you should have! Therefore it’s so wise to lean on the knowledge and experiences of others who have dedicated their time and energy to a certain area and are willing to share that expertise.
I came across an article by Australian dermatologist, Dr. Davin Lin, and ended up reading pretty much everything on his website within a couple days. He is more experienced in skincare (than say pathology) and his insight was illuminating! Great advice on routines depending on whether you’re looking for anti-aging, acne, sensitivity, etc. The skincare A to Z section lists so many ingredients we see in AB products (though his site is not AB specific). I would say he leans more towards actives, meaning vitamin A, B’s, C, acids (AHA, BHA, PHA, azelaic, tranexamic), but also includes a healthy dose of botanicals.

After reading through his site, I was interested in the perspective, knowledge and experience of other experts – specifically those who decided to share through a website or social media (YT, IG, Reddit). I consider an expert to be anyone who went to med school for skincare, to someone who has dedicated countless days to the skin world, to maybe someone who just continually recommends the most amazing products.
Who is a person you follow, ie your skincare guru? Preferably someone who knows their way around AB.
